Meet Nick

A second-generation Modesto Farmer, Nick Blom has spent his life farming on Modesto’s westside. His family’s business spans over half a century, growing various crops, including almonds, peaches, walnuts, grapes, corn, and oats. Today, Nick, his sons, and his brother run their 1,300-acre family farm.

A staunch advocate for farmers and MID ratepayers, Nick has been at the forefront of the battle against the California “Water Grab” and federal dam regulations. His leadership as an MID board member has been pivotal in safeguarding water resources, enhancing the irrigation delivery system, and expediting the relicensing of Don Pedro dam. He has consistently held the MID Directors accountable and championed board transparency.

Nick has served on many community boards, including the Woodland Avenue Volunteer Fire Department, Doctor’s Medical Center Foundation, and was a Paradise Elementary School Trustee. He currently serves on the Blue Diamond Almond Growers Board. He is a lifelong parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

When he’s not busy with his various roles, Nick cherishes spending time with his wife of 29 years, Kristina, and their three kids.
